A Tip to The Gullible

Clickbait is everywhere now and can be defined as the making the title of things sometimes not relevant or accurate to the actual information. There are many of people who share post just based on the clickbait title without reading the actual article. That leads to misinformation being spread around. Gullible people are usually the ones believing and spreading this misinformation. So here is a list of tips to the gullible who use the internet.

1. Do not believe everything you read on the internet.
Literally anyone can post articles now and can spread them around. Do not believe any information until you look at the original source and can determine if the author is credible.

2. If the title seems unbelievable, then it most likely is not true.
Clickbait can mean creating a unbelievable title or thumbnail that seems unbelievable just to get people to click on the link. Sometimes the title and thumbnail have nothing to do with the actual content of the link.

3.  Do NOT give out any of your personal information unless you are 100% sure that the website is completely secure.
You will see many of websites ask for your name, phone number, email, address, and sometimes even your SSN. When you give these out you will probably start receiving a good amount of junk mail and random callers. Worst case scenario, it can also lead to having your identity stolen or someone following you.

4. Get off the internet.
It is really easy to get consumed in the internet and we forget that there is other places to get information such as libraries, newspapers, or traveling. Its more fun to get out and learn instead of looking at a screen all day.
