Evolution of Dance Viral Video

Image
While there may be many version of an evolution of dance video, the original viral video was made by Judson Laipply. He actually did 3 different version of it, but I am going to talk about the first one. The video was uploaded to youtube in 2006, but was created in 2001. In 2006 it was rated as the most viewed video. The video showed him dancing to popular songs from the times of 1956-2000. What makes it so interesting is how each song has a different style of dance. The video was so popularly known that they used it for a question on jeopardy and referenced it in the famous show, The Office .  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judson_Laipply

Rick Rollin' Prank

I Rick Rolled my boyfriend the other day, and it was so funny. I did it by sending it in an email. The subject was "Love you", and the content was "Hey baby, I made this super cute video of us and put it on youtube." I then linked the Rick Roll video. When I first sent it, he did call me to make sure I was not hacked and it was not a virus. After he clicked on it he did get mad but laughed as well. He texted me saying that he was really looking forward to the video I had made, and did not expect the Rick Roll.  Here is the photo of our conversation.

The second article talked about how reading on screens actually takes away our ability to comprehend what we are reading.  I do agree with both of those because I do feel like we read more, since in this society now, we are force to use screens constantly for daily life and communication. I do think that it is harder to stay focused and comprehend on a screen rather than a physical writing. That being because on a screen, you have so much more than just the reading. You have ads on each side, and sometimes videos of ads in the middle of the text. Just reading the articles, it was hard to not watch the ad of someone making ice cream that was in the middle of the article. There are also sometimes colors and

First Day

Image
In the first day of class, we talked about different media as in writing a letter and the internet. We first wrote a letter, after that we did an exercise that shows the different experience you get through the internet. The link created a personal movie by using our address and showing photos of our home.   http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com/ It was cool, but also weird to see photos of my neighborhood.
